Imagine if everything takes you a few seconds to do in the game.  Each action takes a couple seconds.  You can cut down on this time by using hotkeys, which will speed up your actions per minute and really make you fast paced and efficient.

For instance, instead of clicking on build and then selecting where you want it placed, you just type one key and it's done.  That's the beauty of using hotkeys anda ll the best players use them.  So in this quick Starcraft 2 hotkeys guide I'm going to give you a few of the more common hotkeys so that you can begin using them to win.

An Overview fo the Top Hotkeys Used

A few of the basic movement hotkeys are: M to move, A to attack, Control plus Right Click to move while attacking, S to Stop, H to Hold, P to Patrol, G to Gather Resources, C to Return Resource, B to Build Basic Construction, V to Build Advanced Construction, O to Unload Unit, and D to Unload All Units to a rally point

These are just some of the basic hotkeys.  The real thing that you should be doing is learning what each key is when you are playing.  As you play, as you're highlighting a unit to make or a building to construct, you will see in brackets the hotkey that you would press if you wanted to command it.  For instance, instead of clicking on SCV to make an SCV, you would just press S.  So instead of clicking on the Command Center and then clicking SCV, you would click the Command Center and press S immediately.

You could make that even faster by making your Command Center a control group.  If you made your command center group #1 then you would just press 1 and then S, and immediately you're making an SCV.  That's probably 3 times faster than if you used your mouse!

So As You Play, Learn The Hotkeys

If you are committed then you will know the hotkeys by heart and by habit really, really soon.  Just try and learn them as you play and I'm sure you will speed up your game.
